Peace My People

Subjective to te words perception of what a woman should be.
Stuck in a generation where everyone just wants to been seen.
Where is the loyalty?
Where is the self respect?
Where is the dignity?
Where are the leaders?
Where are our role models?
Our kings and queens.
Put one in the air face a blunt and just think.
This is not what our ancestors fought for us to be.
Black pride, black power, yea that’s what we scream.
But yet we kill each other .what happened to unity?
Since everybody wanna be  rapper talk about some real shit.
Pussy, weed, and violence is all that were hearing.
But that’s what we promote fuck any positive influences.
We just killings ourselves and aint nobody else gotta do it.
Talking about change but still doing the same actions.
Oppositions laughing because we give them satisfaction.
I don’t know about ya’ll but I’m getting tired of going to funerals.
Greeted with gray nights and dark skies by pain being inflicted from our own.
But we are not each other’s enemies.
Open up your eyes cat you see what the doing.
Blindfolded by evolution.
Turning us against our brothers while they front like their innocent.
Walk outside and everyday you gotta pray.
Mothers worry about their children making it home that day.
It’s sad.
Trying to divide our people so that they can stand together.
Camouflaged as protectors.
Snakes in the grass some betray us.
Those that are hypocrites of the law.
We can’t trust them at all.
They just want to see us fall like the government.
But my people, my people.
We shall not fall.
We rise, we shine, we grind together.
My people, my people.
Strong, bold, black courageous.
We exceed the expectations.
Disregard the limitations.
We protect our nation for we are one.
Together we stand divided we fall.
Sisters, queens, brothers, kings.
Peace my people, peace.
